Congratulations to our Accessible Information Services team members Vithya and David, who have successfully completed a Professional Certificate in Web Accessibility Compliance (PCWA).
Undertaken through the University of South Australia, this internationally recognized professional qualification in web accessibility is vital to the team’s work.
VisAbility supports other organisations in ensuring their websites meet accessibility compliance for those living with disability, and carry out best practices in accessibility such as the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (link opens in new window)(WCAG 2.0).
“The opportunity to undertake the PCWA has been very valuable. It’s been beneficial to my professional development and the life-changing work we do here at VisAbility. Thank you to Dr. Scott Hollier and Dr. Ruchi Permvattana for teaching us.” said Vithya.
With their new qualifications, Vithya and David play an important role in VisAbility’s vision for independence for people living with low or no vision. In this case, specifically empowering those with a print disability and ensuring their right to equal access to content online. Well done, Vithya and David!
